DEAR VALENTINE...23 plus years

Dear Valentine,
This is my gift to you today.
We are seldom together for Valentines Day.
Ours is a love story that I know is the stuff Fairy Tales are made of.  We still have songs for each other and for us. We hold hands and kiss publicly . {talk dirty privately} My heart is always warm when I think of you. You make me laugh and laugh at  my twisted jokes....thank you for getting me.
We still dream up new terms of endearment to call each other. These are private for the most part,
and are very special to us.

When I met you I had given up ever finding a life partner.
I was an independent woman alone with two young daughters. This didn't for a moment scare you or threaten you.
Our friends and family publicly and privately said ;
"they won't last,
the age difference is too big for it to be the real thing"
We just laughed and loved and muddled our way through.
I know, you know what I meant when I told you I was an orphan after you met my family.
You have been there through the good and the bad things life has handed us.
I can count on you and you can count on me.
I was thinking today of the Bryan Adams song  "Everything I Do, I Do It For You"
it has never been one of our songs,
but I think the words are a good fit for today.

Look into my eyes - you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you'll search no more

Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you
Look into your heart - you will find
There's nothin' there to hide
Take me as I am - take my life
I would give it all - I would sacrifice

Don't tell me it's not worth fightin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
Ya know it's true Everything I do - I do it for you

There's no love - like your love
And no other - could give more love
There's nowhere - unless you're there
All the time - all the way
Oh - you can't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
I would fight for you - I'd lie for you
Walk the wire for you - ya I'd die for you
Ya know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

Early on  you said were looking for a mate someone to share your life with. At the time, I never believed that for a minute you know.
I use to say, "show me, don't tell me"
and you certainly have done that.
Instead of committing to you I would just say
"I only want the Honey Moon, we are together and a piece of paper is not going to change that."
This is still true.  I still want the honey moon with you.
We have been married for a little more than 3 years.
We chose July 07,2007 to do it.
We found out later that year that July 7th is also a second  Valentines Day in China.
To be married also in the 7th year of the 7th month on the 7th day is extremely good luck in China.
You have always worked away from home for long periods of time.
I love that sound in your voice, when I know you are missing me and have been away too long.
I still miss you and am always happy to see you .
Collectively we have 2 grown Daughters and 2 still at home, a total of 5 Grandchildren.
You are a good Dad and a Great Grandpa.

You must know after  23 years that you are the 'ONE'

You were the handsome single younger man
{much younger}
 and I was the wild
{very wild}
 wanton woman of your dreams.

The rest is our history, our love story
You stepped up we bought a house together, had two more children..bought a bigger house....
..........I know, I know, I coulda' gone to jail........but you would have waited for me.....

Here is a layout I did of us
....not typical but nice none the less
